WAR SAN / Kim Warsén
After several years of silence, Kim Warsén released two records in 2019 under the name WAR SAN (New Religious Movements and Silent Talk). The following year came the instrumental album Lortbron, consisting of piano, organs and field recordings. Since then, he has released several critically acclaimed EPs and singles that found its way onto lists of the year’s best instrumental music and has been compared to composers such as Nils Frahm, Arvo Pärt and Christian Gabel’s 1900.

Short biography
Warsén has a past on the Spanish music scene, where he was active for almost ten years. With the bands Ginferno and Los Cuantos he released four full length albums and made over a hundred concerts at Spanish clubs and festivals such as Primavera Sound, Primavera Club, Monkey Week and Faraday. He has collaborated with musicians like Damo Suzuki (CAN) and received 2014 MINS Price for Independent Music for Best World Music of the Year with the record Erta Ale. In 2009 he graduated as a film director from Pedro Almodóvar´s film school ECA in Madrid and has received nominations for his short films and soundtracks (Premio MAX, La Casa Encendida).
His lyrics and musical ideas were published in an anthology on literary creativity in the underground rock music: ”The Fist and the Lyric” (El Puño y la Letra) by Luis Boullosa, together with lyricists and musicians such as Pete Simonelli (Enablers), Aidan Moffat (Arab Strap) and Michael Gira (Swans).
He lives in the Swedish countryside close to Kalmar.
War San releases his fourth full-length album FLOAT on December 18th. 2024, consisting of 5 instrumental pieces (40 minutes in total).
